It is easy to join Carrot Cars. Just follow these simple steps:

  • Please read and learn about the Company on our website. We don’t want you to have any unexpected surprises later on.
  • Fill out our Driver Application – this will take around 2 minutes
  • After that, you are required to book yourself into a suitable/available induction slot
  • You must pay £25 refundable induction deposit, this will be refundable to you as long as you show up to the induction.
  • After successful completion of the induction (more details in Section 9)you can start work immediately.

Tips

Drivers who concentrate on giving a great customer service can make up to 20% extra income from tips, however tips should always be seen as a gesture of gratitude from your customers, not an expectation!

Working only a few hours per week won’t make you rich. Open Shift requires a great deal of self-discipline and willingness to work more hours.

It is also strongly advised not to take any weekends off, as this is always one of the busiest times of the week to make money.

Please note that all MPV/6 Seater jobs are fare and a half from the standard jobs. This rate applies for jobs with 5 or 6 passengers. XLMPV / 7 or 8 seater rates are more.

Above prices do not include airport parking or drop-off fees, which are in addition to these example rates.

What is the refundable deposit for?

As Carrot Cars has a lot of cash jobs, there are many weeks when a driver owes money to the company, not vice versa. The security deposit ensures that any outstanding balances are covered if the driver decides to resign.

The driver will also receive the Company’s property, such as the Company’s tie, badges, nameboards, Chip & Pin card machine, etc.

Security deposit amount is £125 (Payable on the induction day). The deposit will be refunded within 14 days after your last job with our company, presuming that you don’t have an outstanding balance due to the Company, and that all the Company’s belongings have been returned in good condition / working order.

The mention security deposit separate from any company vehicle deposits, for non owner drivers.

As Carrot Cars has been built on the reputation of great customer service, to maintain this, we must ensure that all of our drivers follow the same service standards.

Induction includes:

Test at the end of the induction

  • Safe driving skills
  • Knowledge of the major landmarks, and topographical skill

  • Everything that was taught to you in the training

Please note that the minimum pass rate for the test is 80%. Some points in the test may lead to an immediate failure, such as a bad vehicle condition etc.
Unfortunately, we won’t be able to offer you a position with our Company if you fail the test. In some cases we may allow you to attend the induction again and retake the test.

PS: 90% of the applicants have passed the test so far

Induction session’s timescale and availability

Induction appointments are currently held every:

  • Monday 5 pm – 7 pm
  • Wednesday 5 pm – 7 pm
  • Friday 10am – 12pm & 3pm – 5pm

Each of the induction sessions has limited spaces and can be pre-booked on a first come, first served basis

After successful competition of the induction and the tests, you can start working immediately

  • £75 incl. VAT – if prepaid online Free for the limited time
  • The induction is free of charge; however, we ask you to pay £25 deposit which will be refundable to you – even if you decide not to join our company.

An additional induction fee applies for Executive Driver induction. Please see Section 13 to learn more about Executive Driver option.

We mainly welcome owner drivers, however some company cars (Tesla Model 3s) are available. Subject to your credit status, driving record and our vehicle availability. Please contact us on 02039275116 for more information.

Minimum vehicle criteria of your vehicle:

  • No older than 2017 reg.
  • No damage inside or outside of the vehicle. (Including minor scratches)
  • Free of any unpleasant smells, including food and/or smoke
  • All vehicle parts must be 100% in working order
  • Vehicle must have working A/C air conditioner

Work exclusively for Carrot Cars, minimum 8.5h per day, 5 days per week.
  • First deposit payment of £250, followed by £250 from your first week’s earnings. (Total deposit, £500)
  • Free car, pay only 50% commission and keep 50% for yourself. The minimum earning expectation is £750 per week (after the 50% deduction)

Please note that having an executive car does not automatically give you the “Executive Driver” status, so your performance will be monitored closely. However, now you can apply for Executive Status straight after the initial induction.

If your application is successful then you will be required to attend to “Executive Driver” training, which takes 2 hours.

Please note that even with an “Executive Driver” status, you still must complete the standard jobs along with the executive jobs.

Vehicle must be no older than 2019. (Some exceptions may be done, depending of the vehicle)

All Carrot Cars drivers (Contractors) must follow the uniform standards.

  • Full suit (Matching jacket and trousers)
  • White shirt (Plain white shirt, ironed, long sleeves, no stripes, checks or pattern)
  • Carrot Cars tie (Provided on your first day)
  • Formal black shoes
  • The top / first button of the shirt must always be closed
  • Shirt, suit and shoes must fit perfectly

Carrot Cars follow a strict protocol for data protection. We won’t share your personal, financial or work-related information with any third party or establishment.

The only information given out is the standard requirements by the London Taxi & Private Hire Authority, which requires informing the customer who has booked the car of your name, driver number, vehicle details and your mobile number.

Please note that the certain authorities can overrule the data protection protocol of our company – this includes court judges, police, etc.

We will collect information relevant to our legal obligations as an employer or as a contracted party for drivers and may include your name, phone number and email, in addition to address, bank account details, licencing information and information relating to criminal convictions, health information and other information as part of our screening and vetting processes.

As a self-employed contractor, there is no notice period required.
