Compulsory Face Masks

We have recently received an unprecedented amount of complaints that some of the Carrot Cars’ drivers don’t wear face masks when carrying out bookings.

As demanded by TFL, all PHV drivers must wear the face coverings at all times, when with customers or in-between jobs. The face-covering must cover your mouth and nose at all times! Please note that there is absolutely no excuse not to follow those instructions! (Even if you had the Covid19 already!)

Due to the seriousness of the situation, regular car checks are now resumed. If any of our drivers will not be able to demonstrate that they have a fair quality face covering with them, then they will be logged off and a warning will be executed. In the case of the second time failure, the CC contract will be concluded. Please note that by the law, Carrot Cars must report any omissions about the PHV drivers to TFL, within 14 days!

Any customers who complain, that no face covering was worn by the driver (with plausible evidence) are applicable for a free ride on driver’s expense!

Furthermore, we have promised to our customers that between each journey, our drivers are using antiviral disinfectant to clean all the exposed surfaces of a vehicle, such as door handles, seatbelts and seats. We will also start checking that these procedures are executed and requested!

If you have any concerns or if you feel that those demands are any way unfair, then kindly call on 02039275116 or email to Driver Relations Managers!

Thank you for understanding, and apologises for such an assertive approach!

Cash Payments Have resumed

Dear Team

I hope that everyone is well and healthy!

Please note that the cash payments have now been resumed. If you would like to get paid cash instead of a bank transfer, then please inform your driver manager so we will stop your bank payments. After that, you’ll need to start requesting the cash, if you decide to withdraw, by using this form.

Please note that the collections of Cash will be done only from the Driver Managers’ office (Small office) and only when you have received the text message, with the collection window. Please do not just visit the office unannounced!

IMPORTANT- Cash Payments

Dear Drivers,

As you guys are well aware of this crisis that we have all been hit by, we must follow government guidelines by minimizing contact as much as possible. Therefore we will be stopping all cash payments after this week until further notice. To all those who are on cash payments, you will be put onto accounts so you still receive payments into your bank account.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call a Driver Relations Manager.

Thank You

Worried about the Coronavirus?

Some of the Carrot Cars drivers have shown the increasing concern about the Coronavirus (COVID-19) that has lately shaken the world. Here we would like to share some advice and procedures to give you the pice of mind.

Don’t panic!

Statistically, you have a much much bigger chance to win a lottery’s jackpot, than catch the Coronavirus; therefore, do not panic. Even if there is a larger-scale outbreak in the UK, then remember that you are in the country that has the best medical establishment in the world!

What can you do to minimise the risk?

  • Wash your hands and use Anti-bacterial sanitizer gel (Available to buy at the Driver Managers’ office)
  • Avoid shaking people’s hands. If a customer wants to shake your hand, then politely tell them that unfortunately, it is a company’s policy not to allow any drivers to shake hands, until the Coronavirus in under the control. Please apologize and tell then that you don’t mean to be rude in any way!
  • Use the antibacterial spray and towels, to clean your vehicle’s door handles after every time a customer leaves the car.

What are the symptoms of the Coronavirus?

  • Cough
  • High-temperature
  • Shortness of breath

But these symptoms do not necessarily mean you have the illness. The symptoms are similar to other illnesses that are much more common, such as cold and flu.

However, if you do have those symptoms then you only need to stay away from public places (self-isolate) if advised to by the 111 online coronavirus service or a medical professional. Please do not come to work!

Electric Revolution

Dear driver,

As many of you are already aware from the 25th October 2021 there will be tighter emissions standards on diesel and petrol vehicles with the ULEZ boundary set to expand to the North and South Circular Roads. If you have considered moving to an electric vehicle now is a great time to start. Mini-cab drivers now have a choice when it comes to electric cars however finding a charging point in London can sometimes be a challenge.

In order to help locate these charging points you can now easily download the ‘Zap-Map‘ on Apple App store (iOS) or from Google Play (Android). Navigating your way to the nearest charging point using the Zap-Map saves you time and keeps you moving on the road.

Driver Wellbeing

Dear drivers,

We all know the importance of regularly maintaining your vehicle in order to keep it running and performing at its best – but how often do you take into consideration our own health and wellbeing?

Driving on the road as a mini-cab driver can be fun but it can also be stressful at times which makes it important to know when and how to de-stress. Exercise, healthy nutrition, spending time with friends and family are all important ways we can maintain our health and avoid issues with stress.

A simple break or taking time to get out of the car to stretch can make all the difference. A bigger leap is to consider joining a gym which can also provide a positive impact on us both physically and mentality. Changes do not have to be big but its important we improve our wellbeing a step at a time.

Congestion Charge: Autopay

Dear drivers,

For those of you who are not already signed up with Autopay we would like to give a reminder that registering to pay the Congestion Charge Zone (CCZ) fee using Autopay is the easiest method in which mini-cab drivers can make payments.

Registering with Autopay is simple and easy to do, billing is automatic – giving you the added benefit of not ever forgetting to pay CCZ charges – helping you avoid any costs due to unnecessary penalties.

In terms of savings those mini-cab drivers whom are registered with Autopay enjoy discounts every time they enter the CCZ, with daily charges reduced from £11.50 to £10.50.

Lastly any fees paid towards entering the CCZ can be listed as an expense to the running costs of your business which in turn can be used when completing your tax returns.

Flight Tracking

Dear drivers,

We would like to remind you to remember to track flights manually when you receive an airport pick-up. Once you have received the job its your responsibility to track the flight accordingly in order to meet and greet the passenger at the correct time.

Lately we have had more and more drivers whom are solely relying on the system tracker. Whilst relevant, the system tracker is not the only device available to help you track flights; Flightradar24 and FlightAware are both reliable applications that can be used to verify flight landing times more accurately.

If your ever in doubt please also consider that controllers are there to help you and can double check landing times for you.
